Depression and anxiety are different, but they often occur together.
“I worry about the most random things that never seem to happen”
“I went to the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack”
“I think about going back to bed before I even get up in the morning”
“Things seem pretty hopeless”
You are feeling nervous, often worried, or have panic attacks, You are struggling with sadness, lethargy, and nothing seems worth doing anymore. Therapy can help.
Anxiety is characterized by intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations.
Life is an uncertain experience. Especially these days.
Perhaps you find yourself avoiding something you used to do easily, such as driving, going to the doctor, or being in crowds.
Perhaps you can’t focus on projects at work or school because you are afraid to show up as your authentic self.
Perhaps you avoid standing up for yourself because the thought of conflict makes you sweat.
Depression is a thief of hope and joy.
Perhaps you lost interest in things you loved to do, such as hang out with friends, enjoy the outdoors, or read a book.
Perhaps you don’t sleep or eat as well as you used to, or you sleep and eat too much.
Perhaps you feel like the sadness and and hopelessness will never end.
Anxiety and Depression feel like a weight.
They rob you of enjoyment in your relationships, work and life. Over-analyzing and feeling numb is heavy. Exhausting. It can be that you have survived trauma and partially healed, but anxiety and depression still cling to you despite your hard work. Maybe you have not experienced trauma and so the experience of anxiety and depression does not make sense to you. Perhaps you have struggled with these symptoms for a long, long time.
You are not stuck with anxiety or depression! There are skills that can help you defeat the unhelpful thoughts that are keeping you stuck.
Let’s find your freedom!
Imagine a life without anxiety. Imagine having hope and joy again!
